John Beal

Founder

John Beal established Beal Developments in 1968 with his brother Raymond Beal. Under his direction the business has grown steadily over the years into the sizeable group it is today, with developments in the East Riding of Yorkshire, in Hull and in Lincolnshire. A keen rugby enthusiast, John Beal is a former chairman of Hull’s premier rugby union club, Hull RUFC and he still actively supports the club – Beal Homes has been the club’s main sponsor since its formation in 1992.

Managing Director

Richard Beal joined Beal Homes in 1988 working on site and in all aspects of the business before being appointed to the Board in 1994 and becoming managing director in 1997. He is joint owner of the company and helped to spearhead the expansion of the business into Lincolnshire in 2003. Richard shares his father’s interest in and commitment to the game of rugby. Three times 1st XV captain, Richard is Chairman of Sponsorship at Hull RUFC and has been instrumental in Beal Homes’ sponsorship of many club initiatives including its Youth Development Officers working in Hull schools.

Group Finance Director

Kent Taylor is the most newly appointed member of the Board, bringing with him ten years of experience as Group Finance Director for a National Housebuilder.  Kent brings valuable experience and fresh ideas, which will help the Company fulfill its strategic objectives for growth.  Kent who is from Doncaster, is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Certified Accountants and is a keen football supporter.

Paul Mundin

Commercial Director

Paul’s remit covers purchasing, surveying, technical and architectural design functions. Paul joined Beal Homes from Linpave Building, the Rand Group’s building arm where he had fulfilled roles as contracts director and latterly as managing director. His career spans more than thirty years in the building industry with experience of delivering schemes for the educational, commercial, industrial and health care sectors. Paul is a member of the Chartered Institute of Building. He lives near Lincoln and works from the Lincoln office at The Landings.

Construction Director

With more than 35 years of experience in the construction industry, John Goodfellow joined Beal Homes in 2004. John’s remit is to oversee construction at all Beal Homes’ developments and ensure that the high standards of build and customer service for which Beal has become renowned are maintained as the number of properties we build grows.

Sales and Marketing Director

Sue Waudby was appointed as Sales and Marketing Director in 2003. She joined Beal Homes earlier that year from a national house builder. Sue has held senior roles with major house builders in York, Wakefield and the East Riding of Yorkshire and now leads on sales and marketing strategy for Beal Homes as well as heading our growing team of development based sales advisers.

Richard Costall

Land Director

Richard Costall is responsible for identifying and assessing prime land opportunities for Beal Homes. Formerly Managing Director of Eastman Securities Ltd, the Lincoln-company Beal Homes acquired in 2003, Richard also ran an architectural practice and it was his vision that led to the development of the award-winning Burton Waters Marina where Beal Homes continues to build continental style waterside homes today.

Non-Executive Director of Beal Holdings Ltd

Our Non-Executive Director, Keith Tyson provides valuable external input drawn from experience, which spans senior management roles and directorships with organisations like the Gliksten Group (now Jewsons), Spooners and public limited company Leaderflush Doors. He studied economics and financial management at Oxford University Business School.

David Curtis

Non-Executive Director of Beal Holdings Ltd

David brings wide experience at senior management level within the property, agricultural/pig genetics, venture capital and sectors to the Beal Holdings board. The Curtis family built a successful agricultural research business, which they sold to Dalgetty Plc with David taking a role as director with the international group. A cricket enthusiast and country sportsman, David lives in the East Riding.

Customer Care Manager

Former ‘Young Hull Business Woman of the Year’, Gemma Beal was appointed as Customer Care Manager in 2006. Prior to joining Beal, Gemma established and ran her own successful recruitment consultancy. Now a member of the Beal family – Gemma is married to Richard Beal – Gemma continues the Beal commitment to the highest standards of very personal care to ensure our buyers receive the very best service after they move into their new home.

Kaye Garwood

Sales Operations Manager

Kaye supports the group’s sales team across its growing number of developments in the East Riding of Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. She joined Beal Homes in 2004 from a national house builder where she was field sales manager for East Yorkshire. She has more than 20 years of experience in home sales both with developers and an estate agency.

Chris Murphy

Land Manager

After 12 years playing top flight professional rugby, Chris Murphy joined Beal Homes as Land Surveyor in 2006. Chris, who has a university degree in urban land surveying, works with Land Director Richard Costall. A former England A rugby player, Chris captained England Under 21s and latterly played full time rugby with Leeds Tykes. He now plays for Hull RUFC, Hull’s premier rugby union team.
